and I’m a multifaceted creative gal!

So, who am I really? I am a mum of three and wife. First and always. I am also an artist. A painter. A writer. I am a high school teacher. Science and maths, ironically enough! I am an older sister – the second eldest of six – and we grew up running wild through the cane fields and creeks and reefs of Cairns. I am an animal lover – I spent my childhood surrounded by horses and dogs and cats and poultry. I am a baker. A singer. A dreamer and a reader. A photographer. A creative. A traveler, when time and money allows.

My absolute favourite time of every day is sunset, and the velvety bright and pastel colours that tint the skies usually make their way into my paintings. I love chocolate and wine and the beach and looking at the moon. I love moments with my family - at the beach, camping, swimming, being together. These are the things that inspire me, that inspire what I paint, what I create. I am a learner - anything can be learnt. I’m at the very beginning of an endless journey of learning to garden properly. I am on an endless journey of learning and building a creative life for myself.

And why am I doing this? My why is very simple. I’ve come to realise that the importance of life is borne from the simplicity of love – to love, to be loved, to know love, to do the things we love. So, I’m choosing that instead. I am choosing to let my creativity to flow in tiny moments, to do something that I deeply love and to work towards having more time and flexibility to spend with the great loves of my life – my husband and children, in our home. Without them, none of this would be possible.
